Most of our pieces are made by hand from natural materials: cotton yarn, beechwood, sterling silver, and crocheted finishes. They prefer gentle, deliberate care over quick cycles.
A note on first wear and skin sensitivity. If your baby has known skin sensitivities or allergies (to cotton, wool, dyes, or silver), please patch test against a small area of skin before extended wear. Stop use immediately if any redness, irritation, or reaction occurs, and contact us.
Our hand-knitted sweaters and matching sets are made from soft, baby-safe cotton yarn. Embroidered names are hand-stitched, so each piece carries small, gentle variations that are part of its character.
Washing. Hand wash in cool water (around 30°C / 85°F) with a mild, baby-safe detergent. Don't wring or twist. Don't soak for long periods.
Drying. Roll the piece in a clean, dry towel to absorb excess water. Reshape gently while damp and lay flat to dry, away from direct sunlight or radiators. Knits can take 24 to 48 hours to fully dry.
What to avoid. Tumble drying, ironing directly on the surface, hot water, bleach, dry cleaning, fabric softeners, and harsh detergents.
Storage. Fold rather than hang. Store in a cool, dry, breathable cotton or muslin bag. Avoid plastic for long-term storage as it can trap moisture. For long-term keepsakes, use acid-free tissue paper between folds.
Embroidered names. Take care to avoid pulling or fraying. If you spot a loose thread, do not pull. Trim with small scissors, or contact us for a repair.
Same gentle washing as the sweaters above. These pieces are smaller and dry more quickly, but still benefit from cool hand washing and lay-flat drying. Reshape while damp.
A note on fit. Knit beanies and headbands are designed to fit snugly without restricting circulation. Check fit regularly as baby grows. If you notice red marks on the skin, please switch to the next size up.
Hand wash in cool water, lay flat to dry.
Knit blankets are made for cuddles, photos, supervised pram time, and nursery decor. They are not intended as sleep blankets in cribs. Please see the Suffocation Hazard section below for more on safe sleep.
Knit stockings: hand wash before first display, then spot clean as needed. Store flat in a cotton bag.
Overalls, jackets, woven sets, rompers.
First wash. Always wash before first wear. The first wash sets the dye and softens the fabric.
Washing. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with similar colors. Use a mild, baby-safe detergent.
Drying. Tumble low or line dry. Avoid high heat, which can shrink natural fibers and dull the fabric.
Ironing. Cool iron only. Steam can be useful for corduroy.
What to avoid. Bleach, hot water, harsh stain removers, and dryer sheets directly against baby's skin.
Leo the Lion and other crochet pieces.
Washing. Surface wash with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Do not machine wash or soak. The structure of crochet stitches loosens when waterlogged.
Drying. Air dry fully before next use. Reshape gently while damp.
Inspection. Check stitches regularly. If you see a loose thread, do not pull. Trim or contact us for repair. If a stitch comes loose and exposes stuffing, stop use immediately and contact us.
How to enjoy them. Our crochet pieces are designed as nursery decor and gentle companions. They are not built for active play, chewing, or unsupervised use by infants or young children.
Cuddle Duck and other plush.
Washing. Surface wash with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap. Do not machine wash unless the specific item label says so. Air dry fully before returning to baby.
Inspection. Check seams and surface fibers regularly. Minor fiber shedding is normal in the first weeks of use. If shedding seems excessive, please contact us.
How to enjoy them. Our plush pieces are designed as nursery companions and decor. They are not intended for unsupervised sleep, active play, chewing, or use inside cots, bassinets, or cribs.
Beechwood, hand-finished.
Cleaning. Wipe gently with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. For light marks, use a barely-damp cloth followed immediately by a dry one. Do not submerge in water or use harsh cleaning products, which can lift the finish.
Care. Keep away from prolonged moisture, direct heat, and direct sunlight to prevent warping or fading. Wood breathes, and sudden temperature changes can cause small surface cracks. A stable nursery environment is ideal.
Mechanism. Do not over-twist the musical wind-up. Turn gently to its natural stop and then release. Forcing the mechanism can break the spring inside.
Hardware. Check hanging components and any attached hardware regularly. If you see anything loose or worn, stop use and contact us.
How to display. Wooden carousels are designed as nursery decor and keepsakes, not toys. Display securely out of reach of babies and young children.
The wooden arm that supports a hanging mobile.
Cleaning. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Do not submerge.
Installation. Attach securely to a stable surface. Follow the included installation hardware instructions carefully. Test the attachment by pulling firmly before hanging anything from it.
Inspection. Check the attachment points and any hardware regularly. If any part feels loose, tighten or stop use.
Marshmallow Sky and other hanging mobiles.
Cleaning. Wipe components gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not machine wash or submerge.
Installation. Mobiles must be installed at least 12 inches (30 centimeters) above the crib mattress. Use the manufacturer hardware provided. Test the installation by gently pulling before placing baby in the crib.
Removal age. Remove the mobile from above the crib once baby begins to push up on hands and knees, or by 5 months of age, whichever comes first. After this age, mobiles can become a strangulation or grab hazard.
After removal. Once removed from above the crib, the mobile can be displayed elsewhere as nursery decor, securely out of baby's reach.
14k gold plated over 925 sterling silver.
Daily care.
What's normal. Gold plating naturally wears with regular use, especially at high-contact points. Over time, you may see the sterling silver base show through. This is a normal part of how plated jewelry ages and is not considered a defect.
Tarnish. The silver underneath may develop a light tarnish if exposed to air and moisture. This can be polished out with a silver polishing cloth.
Fit. The bracelet should sit snugly but comfortably on the wrist. You should be able to slide one finger between the bracelet and your child's wrist with light resistance. Too loose and it can catch or slip off; too tight and it can restrict circulation. Check fit regularly as baby grows. If you're unsure, please reach out before continuing to wear.
Repair. If a clasp, link, or any component appears loose, damaged, or worn, stop use immediately and contact us. We can often repair small issues directly.
(See Baby Jewelry under Safety below for full supervision guidance.)
Cleaning. Spot clean with a damp cloth. Do not machine wash unless the specific item label says so.
Drying. Air dry fully, away from direct sunlight, before next use.
Inspection. Check straps, zippers, buckles, and stitching before each use. If any part is damaged or weakened, stop use and contact us.
Storage. Stuff lightly with tissue paper to retain shape during long-term storage.
Cleaning. Spot clean the cover with a soft, dry cloth. Do not allow pages to get wet.
Use. Use a pen with archival ink for entries you want to last decades.
Storage. Store flat, away from direct sunlight, to prevent fading or warping.
First use. Practice fitting the carrier on yourself before using it with baby. Adjust straps, buckles, and tightness in front of a mirror until it feels secure. If anything feels uncertain, please reach out before first use with baby.
Cleaning. Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Air dry fully before next use. Do not machine wash unless the specific item label confirms it's safe.
Inspection. Check straps, buckles, stitching, and fabric thoroughly before every use. Stop use immediately if you notice any wear, weakness, fraying, or damaged hardware.
Fit. The carrier must be snug enough to support baby's full body weight without sagging, and to keep airways clear. See Baby Carrier under Safety below for the full TICKS check.
All Wyld Bub items should be used under direct adult supervision. Inspect each piece before use and stop using immediately if you notice damage, wear, or loose parts. The hazard categories below cover the main risks across the full Wyld Bub range. Always read and follow the warnings on each individual product label as well.
Required at all times. Wyld Bub products are not a substitute for parental supervision and should not be left with babies or young children when an adult is not present.
Check every item before use. If you see damage, wear, loose parts, fraying, or anything that looks different from when you first received it, stop using the item immediately and contact us at theteam@wyldbub.com. Do not attempt to repair items that have structural damage.
Small parts, loose parts, decorative tags, and packaging can cause choking. Follow the age grading on each individual product label. Keep small parts away from babies and young children. If you find a small part that has come loose from any item, stop use immediately and contact us.
Mobiles must be installed at least 12 inches (30 centimeters) above the crib mattress and removed once baby pushes up on hands and knees, or by 5 months of age, whichever comes first.
Never place items with ties, cords, ribbons, or hanging components near a sleeping baby. Items with ties or cords must never be worn during sleep.
Follow safe sleep guidelines from your local health authority. Never leave plush, blankets, knitwear, jewelry, or other loose items in a cot, bassinet, pram, or sleep environment with an unattended baby. Babies should sleep on a firm, flat, level surface, on their backs, in a clear sleep space.
For specific safe sleep guidance:
Wyld Bub pieces are made from cotton, wool blends, plush fibers, wood, and other natural materials. None of our items are flame resistant.
Keep all Wyld Bub items away from open flames, candles, stoves, heaters, fireplaces, matches, lit cigarettes, and other direct heat sources.
Not intended as sleepwear. Wyld Bub knitwear and clothing are designed as everyday and special occasion wear. They are not flame resistant and are not intended for use as sleepwear. For sleep, please choose sleepwear from a brand that specifically meets flame-resistance standards in your country.
Our bracelets are intended to be worn under direct adult supervision only. Always remove before:
Small parts can pose a choking hazard. Do not allow your child to chew, suck on, or place the bracelet in their mouth. Inspect the bracelet before each wear. If a clasp, link, or any component appears loose, damaged, or worn, stop using it immediately and contact us.
For fit guidance, see the bracelet care section above.
Check the TICKS framework before every single use:
Take extra care with newborns under 4 months. Newborns and small infants need additional positioning support to keep the airway clear. Check on baby every few minutes during use.
Stop using the carrier immediately if you notice any wear, weakness, or damage in the fabric, straps, buckles, or stitching.
Wooden carousels, mobile arms, and mobiles are designed as nursery decor and keepsakes, not toys. Display securely out of reach of babies and young children. Do not allow babies or young children to pull, grab, or play with these items.
Remove all packaging before giving any item to a child. Keep wrapping, tags, ribbons, plastic, and small parts away from babies and young children.
