Questions, answered
Will it fit me, and my partner?+
Yes. It is one size, and it adjusts rather than assumes. The waistbelt is a fully adjustable strap and the shoulder straps adjust and cross over, so it sits well on petite and plus-size frames alike. Everything loosens and tightens in seconds, which is what makes it easy to share between two people of different sizes. As one reviewer puts it, “Super easy to adjust, and my husband uses it too.” If you would like help dialling in the fit, email us at theteam@wyldbub.com.
How does it adjust as my baby grows?+
The seat adjusts to your baby, not only to you. Snap settings on the inside of the waistbelt widen the seat as they grow: the narrow newborn setting from 7 lb (3.2 kg), wider through the middle months, out to the widest setting for facing forward. The thigh support buttons on the front panel keep them supported from knee to knee at every stage, and the neck support folds up or down. It carries from newborn to around two years, 7 to 35 lb (3.2 to 16 kg), with nothing extra to buy.
Is it comfortable for long carries?+
Comfort is the thing parents mention most. The structured waistband and shoulder straps spread your baby's weight across your shoulders, back and hips instead of hanging it from your neck. One reviewer with a 9 kg baby says: “this carrier distributes the weight evenly across my back and hips. No more sore shoulders!” And for your baby, the adjustable spread-squat seat and soft natural weave keep them settled. “My little one always falls asleep in it!”
Do I need to buy an infant insert for a newborn?+
No. Many carriers make you buy a separate padded insert to carry a newborn safely. This one does not. It supports newborns from 7 lb (3.2 kg) in the front inward position straight out of the box. Set the snaps inside the waistbelt to the narrow newborn setting, fold the neck support up behind their head, and widen the seat a setting at a time as your baby grows.
What is the fold-over panel at the top?+
That is the neck and head support. Folded up, it cradles a newborn's head and steadies a sleeping baby on the move. When your baby rides facing out, fold it down and fasten it flat with the button on the outside of the panel.
When can my baby face outward?+
Only once your baby can hold their head up on their own and weighs roughly 13 to 22 lb (5.9 to 10 kg), with their face clearly visible above the top of the panel. Set the seat to its widest setting and button the thigh support to the lower buttons on the front panel, so your baby is still supported knee to knee before you turn them to face outward.
Can I breastfeed while babywearing?+
Yes. Loosen the shoulder straps and lower the waistband slightly to bring your baby to feeding height, without taking the carrier off. When you finish, return your baby to the high, close-enough-to-kiss position with their face clear of fabric and their chin off their chest. Most parents find it takes a little practice, then becomes second nature.
Will my baby get too hot in it?+
The shell is woven from natural cotton and linen fibres with no synthetic outer, so it breathes better than padded polyester carriers. “This carrier stays cool thanks to the linen blend,” as one reviewer says. In warm weather, dress your baby in one light layer, keep their face clear, and check their temperature as you go.
